This year I was forever changed when I saw a story on ESPN about "Butterfly Children" and it impacted me in such a way, I knew this was a cause I had to support. EB children are known as Butterfly Children due to the fact that their skin is as fragile as a butterflies wings. With a simply touch of the skin, their cellular structure collapses, triggering burn-like blisters. This disease is considered one of the most painful conditions in the world and it is robbing these kids of their childhood every. As the father of 2 healthy girls, my heart is broken for these children and their families. Can you imagine not being able to hug your child? Could you imagine being born into a world where all you know is pain? No sports, no physical contact, not even the opportunity to think and dream without the distractions of pain.
